About Chelsea

Chelsea Attong is a production designer, art director, and installation artist who has participated in art installation competitions, live painting battles, and film productions across Toronto.

In 2016, she placed first at the Sleepenvie Art Installation Competition against four experienced artists and won the TD Mosaic Art Battle in 2017. She showcased her interactive art installation “Embrace” to 4000 guests who attended the annual four-day exhibition, Come Up to My Room 2018 at the renowned Gladstone Hotel.

Among being an installation artist and production designer, Chelsea has taught over 200 art classes across the GTA and has showcased her artwork in twenty-seven art spaces since 2016.

At the end of 2018, Chelsea discovered her interest in production design and eagerly delved into the film and television industry. Within one year, she was hired on twenty-two projects in the art department.

She has production-designed notable projects with the Juno’s, Nike, and The Raptors. This past year, she production-designed work for The Bay x Raptors campaign that took over Union Station, and also designed the UGG X Fred VanVleet rollout that was featured at Yonge and Dundas.

Most recently, she production-designed the feature film “Sworn Justice” for the B.E.T. Network, and designed a Jamaican household for the photo series “YAAD,” which was published in Complex Canada with photographer Oshane Howard.

From production design to installation art, Chelsea’s work is grounded in introspection, experiential design, and immersive world-building. She leaves sentimental impressions that guide viewers to open up and get in touch with the most vulnerable parts of themselves; all while striking them visually.
